Materials Used in Our Precision Machining Services

We work with a variety of hard and soft materials, including stainless steels, super alloys, aluminum, plastic, and more.

  • Stainless: 3xx Series, 4xx Series, 15-5, 17-4. Stainless steel alloys are highly resistant to stains, corrosion, and rust. Due to its strength, durability, and versatility, stainless steel is used throughout numerous industries to produce lightweight yet durable components.
  • Superalloys: Inconel, 718/x750, A-286, Haynes. This nickel-based superalloy has gained popularity due to its many desirable features. Inconel components are suitable for various environments, including those subjected to oxidation and aqueous corrosion. It is also ideal for applications exposed to extreme heat and pressure.
  • Carbon: 1xxx Series. Carbon steel is a highly popular material for CNC machining. It is available in several formulations and offers numerous benefits, including durability, safety, and long shelf life. Carbon steel is also an affordable and environmentally friendly material.
  • Aluminum. Aluminum is a very common CNC milling material since it is able to be machined more quickly than other materials. It is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, non-magnetic, and inexpensive. Aluminum is commonly used to produce many types of aircraft components and automotive parts.
  • Brass. Brass is highly compatible with precision machining techniques and is also a cost-effective material. Since it is easy to machine, it is commonly chosen to create intricate parts with highly detailed features. Brass creates smooth products with a clean finish and is used to produce commercial products, electronic hardware, medical equipment, and more.
  • Copper. Copper is well suited to CNC machining processes and creates components that are highly resistant to corrosion. It features excellent thermal and electrical conductivity, which makes it suitable for electrical or construction-related products, among many others.
  • Alloys, 4xxx series. This alloy series uses silicon as the primary element and features a lower melting point than other alloys, making them less brittle. It features a moderate strength level and is frequently used in building and architecture-related applications.
  • Plastic. CNC plastic machining offers a level of precision that’s not achievable with other fabrication techniques. Engineering-grade plastics feature excellent insulation properties and strength-to-weight ratios as well as chemical and wear resistance. Precision-machined plastic parts are used throughout the automotive, electronics, and medical industries.
  • Phenolic. Phenolic resin is a synthetic polymer that is commonly mixed with paper, fabrics, or wood to create a tough, flame-resistant alternative to metal or wood. It is easily machinable and used to create insulative, high-wear components. Phenolic comes in grades that include nylon-reinforced, glass-reinforced, paper-reinforced, and more.
